NOTE: CHANGE - MAIN QUALIFYING ROUND
As of January 25, 2012, the MAIN Qualifying Round (and the last day to qualify) will be held on the Monday before the scheduled MSIS match. Sign up before 4 p.m. on the Saturday two days before the scheduled Qualifying Round.
The Pro Staff will make random pairings and assign tee times starting at 8:30 a.m. The Pro Staff will run the qualifier, just like in the past, optional side game included.
If we don't have enough people signed up for the qualifier, thus cancelling the Monday Qualifying Round, then the Pro Staff will have an extra day to make those tee times available to outside play and/or our members. More revenue for the club!!
NOTE: CHANGE - ALTERNATIVE QUALIFYING PROCEDURES
As of January 25, 2012, the new timeline for qualifying during the week prior to the scheduled qualifier will now be the seven days from Sunday morning thru the Saturday 9:00am Dewsweepers / Hurst group, two days before the scheduled Monday qualifier.
Any questions, call Bob Wildner at 657-9653.
ELIGIBILITY
To play for Magnolia Point in the monthly Mens Senior Interclub Series (MSIS) match you must:
- Be at least 55 and a golf member of the club in good standing
- Be one of the top qualifiers in that month's qualifying period
- Be one of the top two point scorers from the previous MSIS match.
EXCEPTION: Not into the John Brady Cup match.
- Ties will be settled by matching cards of Stableford points made beginning on the #1 handicap hole, and then the #2 handicap hole and so forth, until the tie is broken. This tie-breaking procedure will also be used for determining the final qualifying spot.
QUALIFYING PROCEDURE (See Change Above)
There will be a qualifying match one week prior to the scheduled MSIS match.
The Sign up sheet will go up approximately 10 days prior to the scheduled match.
Qualifying is played from the white tees of the white/blue course except:
- GREEN TEES on 1,5,6,7 of the White course. = 3100 yds.
- GREEN TEES on 1,6,9 of the Blue course. = 2913 yds. TOTAL = 6013 YDS
You will play NET STABLEFORD POINTS and use your current handicap for qualifying. If you play the qualifying course set up, the computer will calculate your handicap to reflect the qualifying course yardage with slope and rating.
ALTERNATIVE QUALIFYING (See Change Above)
You can try to qualify once during the seven days prior to the Monday qualifier. You may play in any of the organized groups at the club, ie.. Freaky Fridays, 10:30am Monday group, Tuesday morning seniors, etc. You will need to inform the Pro Shop of your intentions to try and qualify prior to teeing off. They will record your name and the group you are playing with. You will need to be in at least a threesome. You must turn in your signed and attested score card immediately after your round. They will record your points and keep the card. No card on that day, No score!! No more chances. If the group you join plays from the green tees, you can qualify if they let you play the qualifying course set-up. You will not be allowed to play 2 balls to record a score.
If you want to play your qualifying round from a longer yardage than the 6013 yds, such as all white tees or all blue tees, you may do so, and you will use your current handicap from the respective tee.
INCLEMENT WEATHER: The Pro Shop Staff will have final say as to whether a qualifiers round is canceled due to bad weather. If your round is canceled, you will be allowed to try again. If you can't schedule another attempt to qualify during the week, and if there are still openings to fill out the team, you will be entered in a drawing with others who had their qualifying round canceled. In the order they are drawn, those players will fill up any remaining open spots on the team, and the rest will be alternates.
If there are any unforeseen problems, the Team Rep and/or Assistant will make the final decisions.
JOHN BRADY CUP qualification point system is posted in the Pro Shop.
