Board Functions  

Work with the Head Golf Professional to develop the season’s tournament schedule, formats, and costs

Work with the Head Golf Professional and the Club’s Handicap Chairman to help ensure that MGA members:


  - Know the USGA Rules of Golf and apply those rules correctly 

 

  - Understand and comply with the provisions of the USGA Handicap System and have accurate handicaps for our members


Address any discrepancies in handicaps or rules with the relevant members

Disseminate information to members about MGA events and results

Promote interclub events and home-and-home matches
Ensure two-way communication between those members who regularly play from the forward (Green) tees and the Board

Administrate:

 

 - Determine the annual budget   

 

 - Prepare financial reports

 

 - Oversee and account for the

   collection of membership dues


 - Deposit MGA funds into the MGA

   bank account


 - Pay all authorized bills

 

 - Prepare and maintain the

    minutes of all Board Meetings

    and Member Meetings

 

 - Publish the minutes of all Member

    Meetings

 

 - Prepare and maintain copies of

   all official MGA correspondence
