Another month and another exciting MGA tournament. The inaugural Green, Red, and White mixed-tee tournament was a big success. To put things in perspective, last year's August event was canceled due to lack of interest, but this year we had 54 participants.
Once again there were some outstanding performances.
First place low gross went to the team of Joe Wyzkoski Jr. and Mike Matthews with a 64. Joe had a career day with a 68 and Mike, a new member, shot a 72. Close behind with a 67 was the team of Bob Barclay and Tony Nettuno.
The low net division was more hotly contested. Three teams finished tied for the lead with a 60 and had to go back to the course for a three-hole playoff. The large gallery was treated to some exciting golf, with the team of David Carlson & Dave Spannbauer eliminated after three holes. The teams of Roy Gulick & Frank Mitchell, Bruce Gorman & Denny Hurst returned to the #9 Blue tee box for sudden death, with Bruce and Denny prevailing.
Congratulations to the gross and net winners, and to all the competitors.
