Men’s Senior Interclub Qualifying Round
Policy and Procedure
Eligibility

To play for Magnolia Point in the monthly Men’s Senior Interclub team match you must:
    - Be at least 55 and a member of the MGA, and
    - Qualify for the Magnolia Point team by finishing as one of the top eight players in that month’s stipulated Qualifying
      Round.
There are no exemptions and no exceptions.

Procedure

Qualifying Rounds are played on the Monday of the week before each scheduled match.

The sole purpose of the Qualifying Round is to form a team of eight for the monthly Senior Interclub match.
Those men who cannot or do not intend to play in the monthly match should not enter the Qualifing Round.

The sign-up sheet for the Qualifying Round is posted in the Pro Shop one week in advance. Once the sign-up sheet is
posted, the round is in the hands of the Pro Staff. The Pro Staff runs the Qualifying Tournament.

Pairings are random. Tee times normally start at 8:30 a.m.

Report your score as a Tournament Round.

Format

Net Stableford competition with full USGA handicap as maintained at Magnolia Point G&CC.
(See USGA “Rules of Golf”, Rule 32-1b: Stableford Competitions)

The eight players scoring the highest number of net Stableford points make the Magnolia Point team for that month’s
match. The next in line are alternates.

Ties for team composition, including the first four alternates, are resolved by a three-hole playoff using the net Stableford
format. The Pro Staff will select the starting hole.

The tied players will receive one-sixth of their handicap on the first three holes of the nine.  Fractions of one-half stroke
or more count as a full stroke; lesser fractions will be disregarded.

If there is a tie after three holes, play continues on the fourth hole, now using a sudden-death format.  The remaining
handicap strokes for that nine are apportioned to their proper holes on the scorecard. If still tied after nine holes,
continue on, apportioning the normal handicap strokes to the second nine holes.

Inclement Weather
Decisions on playing in inclement weather are made by the Pro Staff.
  That includes both:
    - canceling the Qualifying Round before it starts, and
    - canceling the round once play has begun.

In the event the round is canceled before play begins, the Pro Staff will select the playing team by random draw.
They will have their computer produce a random listing of all those who signed up for qualifying. The first eight players
on that list make the team.

If the round is canceled after play has begun, the Stableford points earned will count through the last hole that was
played by every qualifier provided that at least nine holes were played by all. Ties are resolved by random draw. If any
player fails to complete nine holes, then the entire Qualifying Round will be considered rained out and the team will be
  selected by random draw.

In the event of lightning, players may stop play but must resume play when the threat passes unless the Pro Staff
cancels the round. If a player should leave the course on his own and the Pro Staff has not canceled the round, then that
player is considered having withdrawn from the round.
